Buckinghamshire Marriages

Transcription and conventions used

The transcription consists of 32,319 entries from 36 parishes mainly covering the period from the start of the registers to 1901. Most entries are from the Church of England parish registers but have been supplemented from the Bishop's Transcripts where the original registers are missing or incomplete. All data has been checked and appears in publications that may be purchased from the Buckinghamshire Family History Society.

Note: The Society has matched the banns against the marriage entries. If the banns exist and the marriage entry could not be found the banns have been transcribed and are available on this site.

Each record consists of:

  • Date - day month and year of marriage
  • Transcription of entry
  • Parish
  • Church
  • County code

An expanded version of the entry with separate columns for each name given will appear in table view.

  • Groom's forename and surname
  • Bride's forename and surname
  • Alternative spellings of groom and bride's names or aliases
  • Groom's father's forename and surname
  • Bride's father's forename and surname
  • Forename and surname of witnesses

Note: Only the first forename of each person has been made available for searching.
